SEPTEMBER RIDES

September 12th Saturday Ride

“Mt Pollux”  Ride starts at 9:00 AM from Stop & Shop, Rt. 9 Belchertown. Approximately 30 miles through Belchertown, Amherst and Hadley with a breakfast at Tandem Bagel in Hadley at about 15 miles, and a stop at Mt. September 13th Sunday Ride

“So You Like to Climb? #2”  Meet at 9:00 AM at the Mountain Farms Mall. Rte 9 and 335 Russell St., Hadley MA. Park in the back of the mall behind Whole Foods Market adjacent to the rail Trail. 35 very hilly miles including climbs of Mt. Sugarloaf and Skinner State Park. September 16th Wednesday Ride

“Northampton Ramble”  Breakfast at 8:00 AM at Esselon Cafe, 99 Russell St. (Rt 9) Hadley  Ride will depart at 9:00 AM from the Norwottuck Rail Trail parking lot on Railroad St. (off Rt. 47), Hadley, MA. September 19th Saturday Ride

“Four Town Farm Ride”  Park behind the Town Hall, 250 Main Street in Rutland MA. Ride departs at 9:00 AM for approximately 30 Hilly miles through Rutland, Paxton, Holden, and Princeton.  Bring snacks and drinks. Leader Delro (508) 612 2557. Text preferred.

September 20th Sunday Ride

“Lunch Ride to Barre” Meet at 10:00 am at the Walmart, 352 Palmer Rd (Rte 32) Ware, MA. Approximately  40 mile round trip with a lunch stop in Barre, MA. Possible route options available. Buy or bring your lunch.  Leader: Kerry Goguen Home: (413) 525-4029

September 23rd Wednesday Ride

"LaSalle Market Ride, Collinsville, CT." - Depart at 9:30 AM from the parking lot at the corner of Iron Horse Blvd. and Jim Gallagher Way in Simsbury, CT.  Ride 35-40 miles of paved rail trail. A few short hills, but mostly flat.  Bring a snack or eat at the market.  Leader:  Billthehill (860) 559-2515

September 26th Saturday Ride

September 30th Wednesday Ride

“Duncaster #1” Meet at the park on River St in the Poquonock section of Windsor CT. (https://maps.app.goo.gl/AFKbErzWJ2Us2fbPA). Ride departs at 9:00 AM for a 26 mile ride with 1200 ft of elevation gain. Bring snacks as  needed. October 3rd Saturday Ride

“Vernon/ Hop River Rail Trail Ride” Meet at 10:00 AM at Loom City Cycle, 520 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT.  Bring snacks and water. The trail is hard packed dirt- any bike will do, except for skinny tires. Enjoy the fall colors, 25 miles with tunnel and covered bridge. Leader: Billthehill (860) 559-2515

October 4th Sunday Ride

“Connecticut Shore Ride” Meet at 10:30 AM in the parking lot behind the Guilford Town Hall, 31 Park St., Guilford, CT.  The ride is about 24 miles with less than 500ft of climbing and will head down to Sachem Head Harbor, Stoney Creek and Hotchkiss Cove. The ride will include views of the Thimble Islands.  Post-ride lunch at Lenny & Joe's Fishtale in Madison. October 6th Special Tuesday Ride

“Fun Rail Trail Ride from Windsor Locks to New Haven- 60 miles”  Meet at 9:00 at the AMTRAK station in Windsor Locks, CT *  The ride will start at the Active Windsor Locks Train station (100 S Main St, Windsor Locks CT) and pick up the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail in Granby, then trail all the way to New Haven. We plan to have  pizza in New Haven, then take the train back to Windsor Locks. There is a 3:10 and a 4:45 pm departure from New Haven (Dave can lead faster riders and Betty can lead the rest). Fares on CTRail are $11 or $5.75 for seniors 65+. Bikes are free on the train.  *At this time the NEW train station is expected to be completed on September 26, if it does open, we will be departing from the new station and an email will be sent out. October 10th Saturday Ride

“Ride to Granville Fair” - Meet at Westfield Stop & Shop, 57 Main St. Westfield, MA. The ride will depart at 9:00 AM for 26 miles with 1345’ of climbing through Westfield, Granville and Southwick with breaks/snack stops at the Granville Harvest Fair, where we can enjoy the fair, and Congamond Coffee and Cafe (formerly Red’s). October 11th Sunday Ride

“Mtn/Gravel/Cross Bike to Green River, VT” Depart at 10:00 AM from Green River Recreation Area Parking lot (on the Green River), 1 Nash's Mill Rd. in Greenfield , MA . We will ride about 30 miles, round trip, following the Green River with lunch at the covered bridge in Green River, VT. Tires with aggressive treads are not needed as we will be riding on ~10 miles of paved roads and ~20 miles of dirt roads. October 14th Wednesday Ride

"Easthampton to Outlook Farm" - Depart at 10:00 AM from the end of Oliver Street in Easthampton, MA. (West St. to Oliver St. and keep going until Oliver St. dead ends. Park on the street before the brush dump. October 17th Saturday Ride

“Sunderland, Hatfield, NoHo”  Breakfast at 9:00 AM at Tandem Bagel, 191 Russell St, Hadley, MA.

October 24th Saturday Ride

“Hartford Riverfront - Wickham Park from Chapel 3”  Ride Starts at 9:00 AM at the Korean Presbyterian Church 297 Chapel Rd, Manchester CT. (https://maps.app.goo.gl/D6bDJqnKd4TNcgN67)  After a surprisingly quiet approach well weave our way on paved walking trails to experience the beauty of the Connecticut River from both the Hartford and East Hartford sides. Due to the complexity of the many pathways near the river this ride is best enjoyed by staying with the leader. On the way back we'll go through Pratt & Whitney, past Cabella's and use part of the East Coast Greenway, stopping in Wickham Park for one last panoramic view. October 25th Sunday Ride

“Easthampton to Ashfield” – Depart at 10:00 AM from the end of Oliver Street in Easthampton, MA. (West St. to Oliver St. and keep going until Oliver St. dead ends. Park on the street before the brush dump.  Enter “199 Oliver St” into Google Maps.)  45 miles and 2600 ft. of climbing, less hilly coming back. Note the slightly longer route due to the bridge closing detour. October 28th Wednesday Ride

October 31st Saturday Ride

“Wachusett Greenways Trail Ride”. Meet at the Central Mass Trailhead, 105 Glenwood Rd., Rutland. Ride 20 to 25 miles on a hard pack dirt trail. The ride departs at 9:00 AM.
